Employee Assistance Program

Employee Assistance Program

What is EAP?

An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential service that provides employees and their immediate family members with needed information, short-term counseling and referral services. An EAP is designed to provide your employees with direct, immediate, and voluntary access to a counseling professional.

When your employees access Liberty Resources Workforce Solutions EAP, a qualified counselor is available to assist them in resolving their problem before it has a profound impact on their home or work life. The Employee Assistance Program is an established model designed to enhance an organization’s profitability and productivity by addressing any personal or work related issues that may underlie workplace problems, such as: poor work performance, excessive absenteeism, and high staff turnover.

Counseling Services

Employees can make confidential appointments with qualified counselors to complete an initial assessment of the employee’s needs. Employees can seek assistance with:

  • Family/Relationship Counseling
  • Workplace Concerns
  • Alcohol and Drug Problems
  • Personal and Emotional Difficulties
  • Health and Behavioral Issues

Short-Term Counseling

Employees can attend short-term counseling for up to five sessions. Qualified counselors use a brief solutionfocused and strength-based model to actively assist employees in addressing issues they are struggling with. The EAP provides direct services to employees and eligible family members to include:

  • Initial assessment
  • Short-term counseling (up to five sessions)
  • Referral to and liaison with external resources
  • Follow up services

Information and Referral

In some cases employees may be referred for longer term counseling or assistance, based on the employee and/or family member needs. In these cases, the employee will be referred to community resources or will be assisted in utilizing providers through their health plan.
